simply sash: terms & conditions
↸Our Ts and Cs
Terms
The terms 'sash service', 'sash cord service' and 'cord service' are used to refer to our Sash Cord Replacement ServiceSash Cord Replacement Service.
www.sash-cord-service.co.uk/cord_service.html
This includes 'lower sash service' and 'full sash service'.
The terms 'we', 'us' and 'our' refer to The Sash Window Service Ltd and its representatives.
When we refer to 'window' we mean a timber box sash window, consisting of one or more sliding sashes. Normally this will contain a pair of sashes: upper and lower.
For the purposes of our sash services, a bay window with three separate sets of sashes would count as three windows.
A full sash service covers both upper and lower sashes. This applies where both sashes are designed to be moveable. If a window only has one moveable sash (i.e. the upper sash is fixed in place) then only a lower sash service will be applicable to that window.
If you have windows that consist of more than two sashes (contained together within the same sash box), then please contact uscontact us to discuss your situation.

Conditions
Pricing
Sash service prices vary depending on window size, based on the largest dimension of the window. Unless stated otherwise (as part of an offer) listed starting (from) prices are for windows up to 1.3m (4ft 3in approx) tall. Larger windows will typically cost more to service, on a sliding scale.
Please contact uscontact us for a no-obligation estimate tailored to your circumstances.

Unless specified, all listed prices exclude VAT at the standard rate.
The base sash service prices exclude the cost of add weights necessary to reset sash counterbalance.
Sash service prices exclude the cost of replacement beading (as required, if we are unable to reuse the existing beading).
Minimum Order Levels
Bookings placed in Bristol or Bath are subject to a minimum order level of 6 windows. This is to keep our overheads manageable, due to the distance from our workshop, traffic and parking considerations.
Lower-sash window services in Bristol or Bath need to be part of a larger order that includes full sash services on 4 or more windows.
We recommend a full sash service as a more economical solution. Lower and upper sash cords, rails, balances and frames tend to wear and fail together. Servicing just the lower sash in a window can result in paying twice: if the upper sash later fails, it cannot be serviced in isolation, because the lower sash needs to be dismantled in order to access the upper sash.
If you have unusually large windows, windows with only single sashes, or that consist of more than two sashes (contained together within the same sash box), then please contact uscontact us to discuss your options.
Exclusions
Sash services do not include rot or structural repair work as standard.

In order to access your property and work on your windows we need sufficient parking for our van(s). If you can provide adequate off-street parking that's great. Otherwise we will need suitable guest parking permits for the duration, or the cost of parking charges will be included in the overall bill.
General
When ordering more than one sash service, you can choose a different level of service (lower or full) per window, to suit your needs and budget.
We can offer discounted service prices for orders of 2 or more services.
Windows that are high off the floor or not easily accessible may require scaffolding to service, at additional cost.
